Simple Home-made Garam Masala

Serve 4 to 5



2 centimetres                   Cinnamon stick (chopped into small pieces)

1 teaspoon                        Cardamom seeds

1 teaspoon                        Cloves

1 teaspoon                        Cumin seed

1 teaspoon                        Fennel Seed

1 piece                              Star Anis

1 teaspoon                        Black peppercorns

2 pieces                             Bay leaves (if wished)

5 pieces                             Mace (if wished)

piece                              Nutmeg (if wished)



1.Dry roast all the Ingredients in frying pan without oil.

2.Cool it before grinding it finely.

3.Then sieve it to remove the bran and other impurities and also to make it finer.

4.Store it in an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator.
