Tandoori Promfet

Talking about famous, tandoori is the ideal one. A perfect dish for white fish lovers, a spiced & healthy fish dish, cooked to perfection in an extremely hot oven.

Serves (4 to 5)

1kg / 2 pieces

Garlic (paste)

Onion (paste)

Lemon Juice

Chilli Powder

Fish Curry Powder

Garam Masala

Chicken Powder

Yellow Colour Powder

Red Colour Powder

Egg

Plain Yoghurt

Corn Flour

Salt

1. Clean, trim and wash the promfet with salt to remove the fishy smell.

2. Make diagonal cut in both directions, (2inch) apart on each side of the promfet. 

3. Marinate the promfet with Ingredients (A) in a bowl.

4. Then put it into the refrigerator for 1 hour or so.

5. Preheat the oven at 250oC.

6. Then take it out from the refrigerator, and leave it for it to defrost, before cooking.

7. Check the salt content after taking out from the refrigerator, add in salt if necessary.

8. Cook it in the tandoori oven (clay oven) or cook it in the oven or grill it.

9. Preheat the oven at 250oC before placing the promfet into the oven. 

10. Take the tray and grease it with cooking oil and place the promfet on the tray.

11. Cook it in the oven for 6 minutes at 220oC.

12. Remove the promfet from the oven and strain off any liquid found on the tray.

13. Turn it over to the other side, if necessary.

14. Then smear it with butter and place it back into the oven for 6 to 8 minutes at 200oC.

15. Once it is done, smear it with Ingredients (B).

16. Serve with mint or barbecue sauce.
