Fish Moilee

Coconut is a very good flavour adding ingredient. This fish dish is well enhanced with the rich taste of coconut with spices.

Serves (4 to 5)

As necessary 

 

Ingredients (A)

1 teaspoon

1 teaspoon     

1 teaspoon     

 

Ingredients (B)

¼ teaspoon

¼ teaspoon

 

Ingredients (C)

1 sprig

40 grams

3 pieces

 

Ingredients (D)

1 tablespoon

½ teaspoon    

As necessary

 

Ingredients (E)

½ cup 

½ cup 

As necessary

If necessary   

 

Ingredients (F)

2 pieces

 

Ingredients (G)

500 grams

Cooking Oil

 

 

Ginger (paste)

Garlic (paste)

Chicken Powder

 

 

Black Onion Seed or

Mustard Seed

 

 

Curry Leaves

Onion (chopped)

Garlic (chopped)

 

 

Fish Curry Powder

Turmeric Powder

Water (mix with the powder above)

 

 

Plain Yoghurt

Coconut Milk

Salt

Water

 

 

Tomatoes (cut into 4)

 

 

Fresh Fish (skinless and boneless)

 
 

1. Cut Ingredients (G), into pieces, then soak and wash the it with salt to remove the fishy smell.

2. Then marinate Ingredients (G), with Ingredients (A), and leave it aside for 10 minutes.

3. Heat the oil in a wok for deep-frying.

4. Fry the marinated fish till golden brown, and drain on an absorbent paper and leave it aside.

5. Then take another pot, heat some oil, then fry the Ingredients (B), fry it for a second or so, then add in Ingredients (C) immediately; fry it till fragrant.

 6. Then add in the Ingredients (D) with little water and then reduce the flame and fry it till fragrant and oily.

7. Add in the Ingredients (E) and simmer it well.

8. Add in salt and water if its necessary.

9. Finish it off, with Ingredients (F) and the fried fish and simmer it well.
